Kathryn Harnish

Kathryn Harnish

Director of Strategic Initiatives & Communications

Inspired by her own experience supporting aging parents, Kathryn transitioned from a successful career leading strategic initiatives for global library software companies to social work and joined the Aroostook Agency on Aging in 2023 as Director of Strategic Initiatives & Communications. In her role, she oversees communications, philanthropy, and grant writing, and serves as Project Director for the Aroostook County Health Improvement Partnership. She is passionate about finding innovative ways to address the unique challenges of aging in rural communities and values working alongside colleagues who share that commitment. Away from work, Kathryn is "mom" to a lively crew of mostly special-needs dogs and cats, enjoys building strong community connections, and is rarely far from a New York Times crossword puzzle. She has proudly called Houlton home for more than 20 years and appreciates its welcoming small-town spirit, the beauty of Maine's changing seasons, and—except for mud season—the natural beauty that makes Aroostook County such a special place to live.

Chris Beaulieu

Chris Beaulieu

Director of Programs & Services

Chris joined the Aroostook Agency on Aging in 2020 and serves as Director of Programs & Services, overseeing the Agency's wide range of programs that support older adults and their families throughout Aroostook County. His career includes more than 20 years of leadership in community-based organizations, including 17 years in municipal government—15 as a Director of Recreation & Parks—and five years as a YMCA Program Director. He finds the greatest satisfaction in knowing the Agency's work helps older adults remain independent in their own homes and in working alongside a dedicated team that shares that mission. When he's not at work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and taking advantage of everything northern Maine has to offer, including hunting, fishing, hiking, and watching sports. Proud to call Presque Isle home, he appreciates the strong sense of community and believes it's a wonderful place to raise a family.

Julie Doody

Julie Doody

Director of Business Operations

For Julie, the Aroostook Agency on Aging has been more than a workplace—it has been a 36-year career and a place where she has grown alongside the organization. She began as a Secretary/Receptionist in 1990 before moving into fiscal operations, where she spent 27 years before stepping into her current role as Director of Business Operations in 2018. Today, she is passionate about supporting employees, finding ways to make work easier, and creating an environment where staff can thrive. Her guiding philosophy is simple: “It’s the little things that are the BIG things!” She believes that when employees feel supported, they are better able to serve older adults and the community. Family is at the center of Julie’s life, and she treasures time with her six grandchildren. She enjoys arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, and appreciates Aroostook County’s changing seasons. She also serves as Treasurer of the Northeast Society for Human Resource Management. A lifelong resident of Washburn, she loves the simplicity of country life and being close to family and the communities of Caribou and Presque Isle.
