Friendly Volunteer Program

Friendly Volunteer Program

The Friendly Volunteer Program connects caring volunteers with older adults to provide meaningful companionship through in-person visits and friendly phone calls. Through our Friendly Visitor and Friendly Caller opportunities, we help reduce isolation, promote independence, and bring joy to seniors across our community.

Friendly Visitor Program

A Friendly Visitor provides older adults with the opportunity to build meaningful connections through regular in-person visits. Whether playing cards, watching a favorite movie, sharing stories, or simply enjoying conversation, Friendly Visitors help reduce social isolation, encourage engagement in enjoyable activities, and support overall well-being. We thoughtfully pair volunteers and participants based on shared interests, hobbies and personalities to help foster comfortable, lasting connections.

Friendly Caller Program

A Friendly Caller provides older adults with a consistent weekly phone call that offers conversation, social interaction, and a caring check-in. These regular calls help reduce feelings of isolation, foster a sense of belonging, and strengthen ties to the community. Beyond providing a friendly voice, the calls also offer reassurance and peace of mind for both participants and their loved ones, knowing someone is checking in on a regular basis.
