Tech Coaching and Device Lending

Tech Coaching and Device Lending

Through our new Connectivity Hub, we're able to bring tech-savvy volunteers and interns, formal education programs, and lendable devices together to ensure older adults have the tools and confidence to stay connected and engaged online.

One-on-One Technology Coaching and Support

Trained volunteers help older adults gain the confidence and skills to use everyday technology, including smartphones, tablets, smart speakers and displays. Because we know that technology can be both empowering and sometimes a little overwhelming, we provide patient, one-on-one guidance and support that fits each person's comfort level and goals. Our volunteers help participants feel more confident using technology and enjoy the many ways it can enrich everyday life.

Be sure to bring the device you need help with to your appointment so your volunteer can walk through it with you.

Digital Literacy Programs

These are formal classes, offered by an in-person instructor or through virtual programs, that deepen your tech skillset, including email basics, device troubleshooting, telehealth, and videoconferencing.

Device Lending Library

Through our lending library, older adults can borrow technology at no cost and try it out at home for as long as it is helpful. Every loan comes with one-on-one help from a trained volunteer who can set the device up, walk through the basics, and check back in as new questions come up. Devices are available based on current inventory.

Tablets and iPads

Stay in touch through video calls with family, plus photos, games, books, music, email, and telehealth appointments, all on a large screen with easy-to-adjust text sizes.

Smart displays

Hands-free video calling, spoken reminders for medications and appointments, weather and news, music, and voice-controlled help around the house.

Home monitoring and safety devices

Video doorbells, medical alert and fall-detection pendants, smart plugs and lighting, and other tools that support confidence and independence at home.

Connectivity and accessibility add-ons

Mobile hotspots, amplified handsets, large-button phones, and hands-free accessories that keep devices connected and simple to use.

Not sure which device would help most? Call us and we will talk through your goals, arrange a loan, and pair you with a trained volunteer for setup and support.
