Staying Socially Connected

What We Do

Isolation and loneliness are among the most significant challenges facing older adults today — and one of the most preventable. We connect older adults with volunteers, community activities, and shared meals to foster meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.

Match older adults with friendly volunteers for regular visits and phone calls
Support online social connection through our Connectivity Hub and technology assistance programs
Connect people with community dining sites for shared meals and conversation
Sponsor events that promote social connection at the Agency and its Access Points, including exercise programs, knitting circles, The Front Porch Friday gathering, and more
Provide information about local clubs, activities, and senior centers
Reduce isolation through consistent, caring human connection
  • Older adults who feel lonely or isolated
  • People who live alone and want regular social contact
  • Homebound individuals who can't easily get out
  • Anyone looking to meet new people and stay engaged in the community

Services We Provide

The Friendly Volunteer Program connects caring volunteers with older adults to provide meaningful companionship through in-person visits and friendly phone calls. Through our Friendly Visitor and Friendly Caller opportunities, we help reduce isolation, promote independence, and bring joy to seniors across our community.
